Religious Sites Blocked in School
WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?! I am soooo mad right now. The school district has managed to block all religious websites from our schools. That is so retarded on so many levels.
For one thing, it's just the major religions that have been blocked. I typed in Wicca on google and all the sites that came up as results I was able to access. If they're going to block religion from our school computers, they need to block ALL religious websites. Not just a select few.
Also, our teachers have us learn about religion, at least the major world religions. I know that in Mr. Brown's class, we have studied every single major religion and learned enough about them to start following them if we wanted to. Why isn't the district getting all butt hurt over that huh? It just makes me so angry. We have religion in our textbooks and religion has a lot to do with the world around us. If we don't know things about those religions, we could start a lot of problems with those we interact with. If we don't have an open mind and heart to those who think differently than ourselves, then we won't be able to interact with people when we get out into the real world. If we just sit here and be all close minded about things, more wars will be fought as a result. Many wars have been fought over religion... only because we didn't take the time to understand each other.
It's not like we're pushing our faith on others by going to a religious website for our own benefit and we're not insulting anyone. Especially if we aren't shoving it in their faces, which we aren't. We simply want to go about our business when we have free time. And we do have free time. If we didn't have free time I wouldn't be typing this. I think it's time for this country to take a stand against the ACLU. It's a good organization, but it's starting to get carried away. They are taking away our freedoms more than they are benefitting them.
Did you know that the ACLU tried to make it so that soldiers couldn't pray while on duty? THEY'RE SOLDIERS RISKING THEIR LIVES!! They have to pray... or at least they probably feel like they do. I know I would be praying if I were in their position.
This country is starting to anger me. We need to get our act together. If our president is such a Christian, why doesn't he act? Why doesn't he try to reinstate our rights of religion? Grrrrr....
